Love Letters and Other Correspondences, functions as a curated abecedarian of love letters to the letters of the alphabet. The book’s design and content establish a dynamic correlation between two distinct yet interrelated modes of inquiry. It features personalised missives from 26 respected local and international creatives—visual artists, writers, and typographers—indexed by images from a recent series of wearable typography, An Alphabet of Rings.
The collaborative nature of the project is further highlighted by extracts from email correspondence between myself and the contributors. A compilation of images documenting the hand gestures encouraged by the rings when worn bookends the project, offering deeper insight into a shared passion for communicating abstract modes of thinking—whether through design, linguistics, or aesthetics.
Love Letters and Other Correspondences was co-designed with Yanni Florence and printed in Melbourne/Naarm.
